The general chatter regarding Qualcom's sale that I read today basically was in agreement that it was a smart strategic move, enabling QCOM to concentrate on its chip business, rather than being spread too thin in cellular telephones per se. I don't know very much about QCOM, but it seems they're the market's darlings more because of their chips, and the CDMA protocol than because of their phones. Be that as it may, apparently the thinking is that the Korean firm that is buying the handset business will be better able to gain market share in Asian markets than QCOM would. And the ultimate goal is is to expand market share for the CDMA protocol because it is better able to handle data than the competing protocols.

If anything, I would regard this sale as potentially bullish for VLNC in that it gets greater exposure for its product through the buyer of the QCOM division. Just a thought.
