The simple act of putting a Buddha in the yard wouldn't deter the Jehovah's Witnesses around here. They came around a couple of months ago and I was cordial. We chatted awhile, I accepted their literature and they left. I think I'm on their regular route now. If you treat them civilly they take full advantage. I've had 4-5 visits since they first showed and I'm seriously considering being rude the next time they come. They seem to think that if you don't slam the door on them you're willing to convert to their cult.
