You get simplicity and stability from the static addresses.
You also get certain additional functions out of NT, though
I'm not sure how useful they are.

Your static addresses have to be on the same subnet as your
router, remember. If you understand that statement, you
are indeed beginning to understand some of this stuff <gg>.
I've not found any way to avoid remaining completely in the
dark, though God knows I've tried hard enough to do so ...

PS to all. Sorry, I've just not had time to read the thread
recently, but if you're a Price Club/Costco member, go by
and check out the Eleventh edition of Repairing and Upgrading
PCs by (darn, I forget), published by Que. Price $34.99
INCLUDING fully licensed copies of both Partition Magic AND
Drive Image. As many of you know, PM hates me, but this is
the price to try it with anyhow <G>. The book itself is
VERY good; it fills in all those blanks you always wondered
about. Wish I could remember the author's name (it's
upstairs on my bed table -- my current escape reading), but it's
the standard reference work and is completely up to date
as of last July and includes loads of history as well.
A bargain without the software, IMO.
