Rocky,
I will say one thing you've got more guts than anyone I've ever known trading stocks in over 30 years. Shorting this stock at 605 may give you some bucks if you trade it, but how in the world do you sleep at night. I'm assuming you shorted at least 100 shrs of course.

The key here is in your own comment: "I have been forced to hold for tax reasons." You and a thousand other people .the january effect this year will be remarkably different from past years, I predict.

Rocky yes actually I've been forced to hold much of my gains to save on taxes but I've gained this month alone over 250k on paper which I wouldn't have had if I sold out my highflyers taking those profits earlier. Those gains can't be registered in January either so I'll sit on them as most people will do. If I sell a lot of the big gainers in January yes I'll have the rest of the year to balance out. So I'll have to find some big losers to nullify those gains. Well I think most people made big bucks this year and they don't have those writeoffs so they'll just sit on the gains. Your January effect may be no different this year than it usually is. Now as far as this stock is concerned the gains are truly amazing but I'm sitting on a six bagger so I will sit even if there are some big down days I can't get hurt here but you can. Shorting at 605 IMHO is more dangerous than buying at 605. Time will tell whether you made a good trade so sleep tight.
