Richard - well duh yourself!! Show me where the following definition mentions gold - in fact the entire balance sheet seems to contain no gold at all!:

"The SDR is an international reserve asset created by the IMF (under the First Amendment to its Articles of Agreement) to supplement existing reserve assets. The value of an SDR is determined by reference to a basket of currencies of the five largest industrial-economy member countries of the IMF. Pursuant to the Special Drawing Rights Act of 1968, SDRs allocated to the United States or otherwise acquired by the United States are resources of the ESF"
