I guess everybody prefers to curse and abuse each other
with the widest possible audience!

My personal view on the matter is that AMD over the years shows an absolutely terrible financial record, which is the visible trace of a long history of unfulfilled promises and screwing up at crucial times.

In contrast, INTC has shown just about the opposite, with amazingly effective operations, considering the size of the organization. It has also made SUBSTANTIAL investments in many other sectors. In one way you could look at it as a closed end investment fund.

However, AMD MAY be about to turn around majorly, because of the relative success of the Athlon, its booming memory business and possibly some temporary stumbling on the part of INTC. So, from my point of view it's worth a shot.

In the back of the mind there is always the question--why is it going to work this time, in light of the past.....

Best wishes,
Jim
