Radio WallStreet has a very good discussion of the future prospects for Linux and Linux companies in 2000. The companies discussed were RHAT, CORL, APLX, COBT, and LNUX. Inprise was mentioned prominently as an important player in pushing Linux to it's full potential.

Tom Adelstein, CIO of Bynari International, was interviewed.

Some highlights:
1.) Linux will become the dominant OS in 2000.
2.) 1999 was only a mediocre year for Linux by comparison.
3.) Linux use is progressing at the same rate as Internet use did.
4.) Inprise holds an important key to Linux adoption.
5.) JBuilder download was the biggest in history of development tools.
6.) Delphi, with it's 2 million developers is important, as are Borland's other development tools being ported (i.e. Kylix)
7.) Inprise management is very excited about their Linux offerings.

... If Adelstein is correct about how fast Linux will permeate the computing world, then this could happen very soon.
