PARIS, April 21 (Reuter) - Wanadoo, France Telecom's Internet service provider, said on Monday it had over 32,000 subscribers by mid-April, nearly a year after its launch.
France Telecom Interactive, the branch of France Telecom which manages Wanadoo, also said in a statement Wanadoo was now offering personal Web pages to its subscribers.
Launched in May 1996, Wanadoo said in January that it aimed to have 100,000 subscribers in France by the end of 1997.
Wanadoo shares the French market for Internet service providers with the French arms of CompuServe Corp <CSRV.O> and America Online Inc <AOL.N>, and French groups Infonie and Club Internet.
Infonie said in February it had 26,500 subscribers. At the time Wanadoo had 20,000, Compuserve had 75,000, AOL 40,000 and Club Internet 20,000, Infonie managing director Christophe Sapet said then.
