There is no possible means of justifying this statement by Corel's CEO Michael Cowpland:

"Corel is the company with the most Linux technology."

Other than a port of their office product, they don't have any Linux technology to speak of. Contrast that to SuSE, Debian (whose Linux distribution Corel actually uses) Oracle, IBM and Sun and you will see where this outrageous claim by Cowpland is probably going to be looked at by those prosecuting all of the charges against him.

If anybody wants to invest in this company based on their potential with Linux I suggest you consider what they did with their potential under Windows, their potential using Java and their potential with Network PCs and a whole host of other software product efforts that have apparently fallen flat on their collective faces. When was the last time Corel actually developed a successful product? The stuff they are currently trying to unload on the public was purchased from other companies. Was Corel Draw an original? I seem to recall they just bought that, too.
