I was talking to my coin shop/bullion broker today (central Florida). He said about mid-week the premium on 1-oz. gold American Eagles shot up to $35.00 above spot. Does anyone know if this is a local phenomenon, or is it widespread? (He stated that Canadian Maple Leaf gold bullion coins command the same premium as before, namely about $20.00 above spot).
