DEC 24, 1999, M2 Communications - Bad Homburg -- Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT company, has introduced a range of new mainboards that maximize the potential of Intel's new 820 and 810e chipsets. Fujitsu Siemens Computers produces mainboards for both its own and OEM customer, and last month produced more than 52,000 mainboards for OEMs. The new range features a high-end mainboard for high performance PCs, workstations, and servers, and an integrated entry-level mainboard for low-budget systems.
Building the next generation of high-end PCs with Pentium III processors
The D1127 mainboard offers a platform for high-performance PCs, workstations, and servers, and is based on the Intel 820 chipset and Intel's Pentium III processors. The mainboard facilitates faster graphics, faster hard drives, faster memory and smoother system running. For the user this results in improved performance and reliability in all applications, and makes the D1127 mainboard particularly suitable for visual computing applications. The 820 chipset also includes a hardware random number generator, offering improved security and encryption for e-business.
In addition, the launch of the D1127 mainboard sets new industry standards in mainboard technology, featuring a number of innovations from Fujitsu Siemens Computers research and development, including a micro-controller for Thermal Management and System Monitoring and improved mainboard technology for improved memory bus and faster data transfer.
Technical Highlights
-- High end D1127 mainboard -- Intel 820 chipset -- RDRAM design to improve capacity. RAMBUS technology with up to 800 MHz and 600 MHz, improving data transfer frequency up to 1.6 GB/sec -- Faster processor data transfer supported by 133 MHz Front Side Bus -- Improved graphics. The 4-speed Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) is a bus specification which is used to create complex graphics. Features a data transfer rate of 1 GB/sec. -- Additional technical specifications: Ultra DMA/66, AC '97 with Audio Modem Riser, IPSec - an additional safety component to secure the data transfer
Unheard-of integrated power and functionality for low-budget systems
The D1171-A, D1171-B, and D1170-A mainboards all take advantage of the integrated Intel 810e chipset to facilitate low-budget systems, with graphics and audio-onboard, as well as networking and remote management capabilities. Ideal for designing the next generation of low-budget PCs, the new mainboards offer an attractive combination of price, performance and manageability.
The mainboards support the full range of desktop PCs, featuring a number of technical highlights:
