Brian-- What a terrific idea. Let's talk more.

I have spent time in many undeveloped countries, and even taught in Zimbabwe, but my favorite for giving is Eritrea.

Unlike India, where I visited last year, Eritrea has no crime, corruption, refuses foreign aid, and has a post-revolutionary glow. My wife and I visited their University, which is taught in English, and it did receive private aid from Sweden.

FWIW, I personally hate things, and find Xmas gifts aversive. I talked my family into pooling the money normally designated for gifts to a needy cause and we did so for several years until a cousin rebelled. Lets talk privately. You have a wonderful idea. Maybe more beneficiaries of the stock market will join us!
