M: I won't tease you about your misreading of the paragraph in question. You likely just had too much egg nog.

With regard to the profitability of the handset unit, you are correct that Q did not make a profit. However, it has been discussed amongst the analysts, ad nauseum, that a company which bought the handset unit would make it profitable by integrating it into their own manufacturing processes.

Last year Texas Instruments sold their DRAM business to Micron Technology. Micron turned it into a money maker by integrating it with their own. Micron's stock has skyrocketed. Have you followed TXN in the last year?

I guarantee you Nokia wanted the handset unit. I agree that they were not willing to pay what KYO was willing to pay (in terms of money and promises). In any event, you won't see me bashing Nokia, as I own the stock and I have one of their phones.
