MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! El TheStreet.com on Fox News Channel
Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Sundays at 10 a.m. (ET)
WORD ON THESTREET: Forget the bulls and bears ... bring on the reindeer! Every year Wall Street looks for a "Santa Claus" rally. This week's panel -- Herb Greenberg, Jim Cramer and guests Faye Landes from Thomas Weisel Partners and Ralph Bloch from Raymond James and Associates -- debate that famous statement "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus (rally)." Plus, will this tremendous market continue through 2000? Guest Ralph Bloch is a "parobolic curve" pessimist, but Cramer is a determined bull and will not pull in his horns. Find out what Cramer really thinks about these two guests in this week's Cutting Room.
CHARTMAN: Gary B. Smith and Adam Lashinsky play "Secret Santa" on this week's "Chartman." Because "Adam needed so much this year," Gary gives him a stock that he doesn't need to do any fundamental research on -- Red Hat (RHAT:Nasdaq - news). Adam thinks it's a "good stock with good fundamentals," but is strictly for momentum players. Of course, Adam knows that it's better to give than receive, as he gives Gary "The Real Thing" for the holidays -- Coca-Cola (KO:NYSE - news). Adam calls Coke a great American name, something for the middle of the year, but Gary is would still consider shorting this lump of chartist's coal.
STOCK DRILL: Guest Faye Landes talks brand names with Jim and Herb and offers up Nike (NKE:NYSE - news) and Nokia (NOK:NYSE - news) in this week's "Stock Drill." Landes says the lesson of last week was that "the best time to buy Nike is when expectations are negative and low."
HOLIDAY WI$HES: Our prediction panel offers up their Wall Street holiday wishes for investors. Compaq (CPQ:NYSE - news) has been naughty for the past two years, but Cramer sees a nice year ahead for the computer maker. Herb hopes that investors who have become complacent realize that the market can be mean. And Dave Kansas made a great call on Yahoo! (YHOO:Nasdaq - news), and now has his twinkling eye on Amazon (AMZN:Nasdaq - news) forecasting that January will be tougher for the e-tailer. Talk about this week's show on our message boards.
