What is the problem many longs have with people who short stocks?

1. They refer to the longs as "the idiots" when the reality is the longs seem to put more thought into the companies they buy... shorters seem to only show up when a stock goes up quickly... thats their entire criterion.

2. Some notable shorters on SI tend immediately accuse company management of fraud (or at a minimum scheming) etc. when there is no evidence whatsoever, and in so doing usually insult the longs (again) in the process as if they aren't smart enough to catch on to the heist...

ex. you and the other recent longs have completely taken the CMRC insider's bait.

3. They pontificate about what will happen to the longs when the mania/hysteria, etc. ends... as if the longs are unable to comprehend the situation, when actually it is THEY that have the perception problem imo...

ex. and I hear the first screams of disbelief as CMRC list and plunges in panic selling.

All this on threads where the longs have made a ton and the shorts have been destroyed generally.
