Yah. Talked to the village in North New Mexico last night. Zow-ee. They are having a good, good, time. The ground has a sacred, almost Bethlehem feel to it. Last year we lined the driveway all the way to Rio Grande with the candle bags. Two or three hundred, in the still cobalt air. Swirling through the orchard like a Van Gogh up to the steps of the house, on to the porch, lighting the way right outside the living room and door. I like to sleep that night in the living room there, under woolen throws. Then when I wake up at 3 a.m. they're still out there burning. What did Santa bring your fish? What makes a fish happy?
