When you are adding new securities, I noticed you said you were adding the name AND the symbol. Make sure you are clicking the "Look up" tab and have "All securities" showing at the top of the window and "common stock" showing in the lower window. Then when you add new symbols ( Making sure to use a comma after each symbol before the next one) the bottom of the window should automatically pull up the security or possible securities. In Other words if you type in MMM, it should automatically briong up MMM with teh name of the comapany 3M at the bottom, and it you typed in T, it should bring up AT&T and about 100 other possible securities all starting with T.

If this part works right, then you should just have to highlight the ones you want from the bottom window and then click the add button ( holding control lets you highlight more than one at a time). If they are not appearing down there and you are having to add the name also, then something is wrong with the way you are inputting the symbol. Make sue there are no spaces, or other easily made mistakes in the symbol.

If this part works right, make sure you are hitting the OK tab back on the main little window box and NOT the create tab.

If this part is right, then when you go to download, make sure when you select to download data, that the folders you want updates are showing in the window that appears and make sure that the folders are in your hard drive, "Equis", "Data" then name of the folder. Click the "securities tab for each folder and check the "new" securities and make sure that the download is showing "daily" and not some other weird option. ( This is an optionable set up when you added the security but should be daily by default) If the folder and ensure that the securities are "checked" in the box to the left of each one.

If it still doesn't work and all this is right, then you may have a data provoder problem and not a software problem. In that case, make sure your log on name is right and password is also correct. If it is a new account, make sure enough time has passed that they have you "turned on". ALso some providers have down times where it is almost impossible to get a good download. Reuters before 10 eastern, others at peak hours.

It is tough to trouble shoot without seeing it. If you know anyone that lives near you that has it, bribe them to watch a dsownload. Make sure there are no error messages, watch to see if all the symbols appear to be going by as it first "verifies" securities and watch as you are logged on to the data provider for the download to see if it is "asking for data" on each security even though these screens run pretty quick.

Good Luck,

Lee
