Richard, et.al., OT: Thanks for the commentary. I've always liked Anna Q's style of writing. And what do you know, my god-child does, too! We're not very close to each other, physically, what with her on the "left" coast(Southern California), and me here on the "right"(NYC), so we don't get many chances to see each other. Still, we know each other well.
Every since she could type on a keyboard we've "talked". Via e-mail. Via AOL's IM(Instant Messaging). Sometimes we've even managed video conversations. We became fast buddy's a looong time ago(whew...longer than I care to admit, heh). She'd tell me things I know she couldn't say to her parents, ask me about stuff just plumb guaranteed to make them crazy(I guess that's what god-parenting is all about, eh?), and I in turn would tell her about the craziness swirling around my life, particularly work. And we continue to do this, even though she's now at her first year of college. Bottom line? From my standpoint I'd like to think she's a perfect example of her generation. Completely computer literate, smart, sensitive, wacky, and fearless to the core. And we have become each others touchstone. Sometimes I provide her with indirect commentary designed to make her reflect on what she's doing(or thinking about doing). And in this case....well....it looks like she's doing the same for me. ;-)
