A Christmas and housewarming present to the thread:

ftp://ftp.halcyon.com/local/rosec/blackrose.zip

This is the Excel spreadsheet I use (and have spent a while spiffing up for public consumption) to compute present and future call/put option values and their associated 'greeks'. It also currently includes a short (sold) put margin calculator.

Once you've downloaded the file referenced above to your PC, unzip it with PKZIP or any other program that recognizes .ZIP files. If you are prompted for a password, or get a message about "skipping encrypted file", use the password "gorilla" (all lower case). After this you will have two separate files, BLKROSE.XLS (the spreadsheet itself) and BLKROSE.TXT (the instructions and disclaimer - read this FIRST).

Notes:

- Because SI doesn't recognize non-http URLs, you'll have to cut and paste the above URL into your browswer (ie, it's not clickable).

- I've verified the above URL works, and that the resulting file unzips properly using the supplied password. If you have trouble with anonymous ftp or with unzipping the file, consult your local computer guru (I find any resident teenager is often helpful <g>) - I can't really help you in these areas since every system, browser configuration, and internet provider works differently.

- This is a BETA VERSION of the spreadsheet. Please don't redistribute it or upload it anywhere else.

- If you have problems using the spreadsheet or questions about how it works and what everything means, I recommend you direct them to the thread at large, so all here can benefit from the question and answers. If you think you have found a bug, a miscalculation, or have a suggestion for a change or enhancement, please feel free to email me (I'd rather you didn't use an SI PM for this). My email address is in the spreadsheet instructions and in the "Properties" box available when you're in Excel.

That's about it. Happy number crunching.
