Richard, none of these applications are really "mass market" applications, any cryogenic system is too cumbersome but for very extreme applications. AMSC is using silver as a sheath for HTS and I am not sure that even this expensive solution will really provide long life. These materials have a lousy tendency to hydrolize, the silver provides a diffusion barrier, but I am not sure for how long. It is destined to stay in the fringes as niche applications only, IMHO. If and when ambient SC come to scene, this work will no longer be relevant, IMHO. Zeev
