Eli, at one time, Capital Guardian was the largest shareholder of a company with the ticker symbol IPMCF. You won't find that ticker symbol now, because the company went bankrupt a couple of years ago.

Posters on the IPMCF thread used to post messages exactly like yours to the IPMCF skeptics; e.g., "if such a large institution has done their due dilligence and chosen to invest, then how could skeptics possibly know more than them?" In fact, investors in IPMCF, including Capital Guardian, the largest investor of all, lost every penny. Remember, the $32 million represents 4 hundreths of one percent of Capital Guardian's total holdings. They could lose their entire investment and it would amount to a rounding error in the annual performance of their funds.

Having said that, I certainly acknowledge this placement is a very positive development for VLNC, and I would not argue differently. I am pleasantly surprised at the amount of the financing, and the price the shares went for.
