Ken,

I suggest that you recreate the Virtual files on the new machine using a scan or QP virtual setup. I do not think you can copy them over. You can copy the QP data files.

I just installed WOW 6.5 over 5.0 in the same directory and it works fine. All my custom indicators and system tests are there and the saved charts can be loaded. I can read the QP Virtual files and merge them into WOW format just as with WOW 5.0

WOW 6.5 seems a lot slower to load securities from the hard drive than 5.0. I like the way I can move hand drawn lines and scroll to the next plot using the space bar. Outside of that it works like 5.0

The WOW Y2K readiness statement included the following:

Assumptions, Limitations and Disclaimers

3. Date limitations: Only dates through December 31, 2035 will be accurately recognized and displayed by the products. Further, any data transmitted by a data vendor which transmits dates in two-digit, rather than four-digit, format will be accurately recognized and displayed by the products only with respect to dates through December 31, 2009. For example, a date transmitted by a data vendor of 02/15/10 will be read and displayed by the products as a 1910, rather than a 2010, date. If you believe this is a problem for you, please contact your data vendor. To the Company's knowledge, the only datafeeds compatible with the products that may continue to transmit two-digit year dates are BMI and Dial Data.

Does this mean that 00 in a virtual file will be interpreted as 2000 ?? They went on to say,

With respect to the MetaStock data format, MetaStock, to date, has refused to supply to us the specifications required to ensure that post 1999 dates will be accurately read and displayed.

Does this refer to the new MS spec or the old 255 per directory spec ??

Several months ago Gary told me that we would need to change to ASCII import. I am just going to wait and try Virtual in Jan.

Bob
