I think my problem with your arguments is that imo schools were good until about 1980. Its a very recent phenomenon when public schools disintegrated - it was interesting when I went to Texas I found out Mike Dell sends his kids to public school there. Thats the way it USED to be out here... the public schools were perceived to be the best, or certainly as good as a private education - 25 years ago.
