We'll celebrate an "East Coast new year" at 9pm Pacific, then go to bed. If I'm insomnic, I'll watch cable at midnight and watch the world go on as if nothing happened, cuz basically nothing did. Come to think of it, if there is any sort of Y2K unpleasantness we'll know early in the day. Japan, China and Russia will lead the odometer transition. When in EST does the first time zone "tip over"?
