My daughter came to me several weeks ago, asking for advice to invest a bit of money. I thought about it for a while and recommended QQQ, thinking it had notched down at the time, was a broad tool for getting a sense about stocks and the market in general, easy enough to remember, had a pretty good if short track record and had some pretty solid underlying securities backing it up.
We timed her entry and she stepped in at 149. Its up a bit now, my view is always to let profits grow to long term. A 20% snap back from here would still have her close to breakeven, so it looks fairly safe to just let this steamroller roll on. As I see it, this is a long term parking job for her money. Something to learn from and gain market experience thereby. She's only 20.
Any advice, pro or con, from anybody looking at this, if she comes to me asking what to do at this point or next ? Shoulda bought some of it myself, now that I'm looking at it... |
