Hello, knock,knock, anybody there?

There's an article in the November 1999 issue of the Association of OR Nurses (AORN) Journal on Biochemical Markers in Myocardial Injury (pp 840-854). There is an AORN website aorn.org but I don't think these articles are posted there.

The author points out that testing for cardiac troponin I (cTnI) is highly specific in detecting damaged myocardial tissues. Other tests detect damage to other muscle tissues in addition to cardiac tissue, so they are not as specific to detecting MIs as this troponin test is.

The article does not refer to Spectral Diagnostics per se, but there is this quote in the conclusion:

"...rapid bedside assays are available to measure troponins. Nurses may be responsible for performing these assays..."

Laissez le bon temps roulez!
