SLIC has spared no expense to build a state of the art plant that using the best available technology for all aspects of production - wafer growth through shipment. Visit SLIC's clean room as I did and you be the judge as to who is on the cutting edge, SDLI or SLIC. SDLI had its shot and has gone from rookie of the year to old timer. Nothing short of re-tooling their production process will make them profitable and competitive. SLIC has begun where SDLI left off. It may only be a matter of time until most of the laser diode customers see it that way too.
