hi ed, my cable modem company is a local endeavor. the service is "one-way", fast downstream, 56k upstream. not great, but sure a ton better than strictly dial-up. <g3> the one-way portion is giving me extra considerations when looking at networking. a lot of networking software won't work with one-way cm's. c'mon dsl! :) mark
