Jill - How about if we do this? I'll take a stab over the next week or so at writing out some definitions and include a syllabus for those who might want to dig deeper. Then I'll post it and let others help me refine it and make it more readable. Not that I have any magic answers, but at least I can start the process. We'll post the end (group effort) product and suggest that newbies start there. Sort of the option version of "RTFM". That way we'll all be talking the same language when we discuss strategies. Then - because the objective is to leverage what we are all using and learning at the G&K thread, I think we might want to start exploring some specific trades. I know I'm grappling with a number of them at the moment - like how to best protect my position in a stock which has been kind to me over the past several months. I'm not suggesting anything which looks likes a model portfolio because we all have different objectives, time horizons, risk tolerances, etc. But following actual trades might be a great learning tool. Some trades will work; some won't. But I'm sure we'll have lots of spirited discussions along the way. For me, that's the point: to have fun and learn. Maybe make a little money too! Grif
