Hayer. Don't kid yourself by stating "that the latest price drop may be engineered somewhat". Other companies with great products have bit the dust and then rose again. Take for example Syquest (SYQT : NASDAQ) It's supporters rooted for it all the way from over $20 to less than $2. Same thing with BORLAND (BORL : NASDAQ), it was $80 and when it dropped to $20 everyone on their thread said it was a good buy. It dropped all the way to $5. Borland makes development products far superior to MSFT but products are one thing and sales+profit are the real things that determine the stock price. Added to the evaluation of any company the perception of Wall Street or Bay Street to the management of the company. Corel falls into that last category with a negative perception for management. There are no institions who have the slightest interest in their shares. Ask your broker and he will tell you or check their SEC filing to find out. Their management twisted the facts and told us two quarters ago how they were ahead of MSFT and that all quarters from there on would be profitable and then surprised us with a statement just before the last quarter announcement of maybe -$0.11/share loss for the quarter, and then gave us a pathetic $0.01/share profit per quarter and said unilaterally that met analysts expectations. At that point one should have sold one's shares at a loss and looked for another investment that can be more dependable. Just my 2 cents worth.
