Actually i can't really explain it accurately but just have a hunch. My guess is that value and growth mutual funds have S and P benchmarks that they are compared to.
Many funds probably track these benchmarks. Considering the popularity of growth funds, it results in increasing demand for the stock.

CNBC stated that there were sell orders at the close for NT but that this was absorbed by the market very well.

I can see continued strength in NT in the coming few days. The stock only started moving in a big way in the last couple of hours of trading.
