Hey Tippey...howdydo? I've been busy the last 2 months with a mountain property purchase/remodel with my brothers. I needed to get out of that tiny room and get some fresh air!
Got back last night from a family X-Mas ski vacation and there you are asking ME if this is IT!

S&P/DOW surprised me in October....was looking for S&P, DOW and NYSE all to return to their Feb lows and/or test their July 1998 high....only the NYSE did that and they faked me out on the other 2 indices. I wanted to be short term wildly bullish at that point but I was psyched out by Y2K.
The USA is thick in cash and my gut has said that we should avoid a calamity here at home. My concern has been the rest of the world...if Y2K is real there will be a lot of problems for those who have not spent the money on Y2K and I believe that will seriously impact this fabulous economic run we have been on. Our market has been subject to the
"Dumptruck Syndrome"....every month the dumptrucks full of cash have been arriving at the steps of Wall Street and dumping $$billions upon $$billions into the market. Every dip has been met head-on by dumptrucks. Y2K has the potential to create a worldwide recession. The question is whether it really becomes obvious January 1 or if it is a 'stealth bomber' and sneaks up throughout the 1st Quarter as problems in supply cause inflation, 'just-in-time' inventory becomes 'not-in-time'...layoffs occur, unemployment raises and the "tight for cash" begin to pilfer
401K's etc. and the dumptruck drivers seek unemployment benefits. Add to that alot of other things including a liquidity reversal, margin calls..etc.etc. and Uh-OH...this could be IT.
I was concerned that there would be a cautious drainage going into the last few weeks...BUT NO WAY! Charge On NAZ!

The look for me now is that we fade out from here, possibly starting tomorrow, and wait to see what happens on January 1st....NOW,... if January 1 does not bring some terrible Y2K demise I am guessing there is some profit taking and then a 'Y2K didn't destroy the world' rally with the January Effect $$$....but then if the Y2K 'stealth' starts to drop it's 'fecal matter cluster bombs'...o-h-h-h-h-h
