BIT ... hmmmm interesting ... I have a few questions for whoever claims to be the expert in this field of smart card chip sets.

I agree that a smart card reader integrated into a keyboard is a very good idea and will probably be one of the first really cost effective ways to introduce smart card readers to the end consumer.

However, keyboard pricing is extremely competitive and you can be sure the companies that choose to build these readers into the keyboards will be looking for super cheap smart card chip sets. It's going to be price, price, price.

1) Where is BIT's manufacturing facility located and are they producing these chip sets in any real volume right now?

2) Exactly who are BIT's competitors in the area of smart card chip sets and where do they do their manufacturing?

3) Does BIT have any real keyboard manufacturers as customers that have actually designed their product into their keyboards NOW? If they haven't it's getting a little late in the game ... these things are going to be everywhere in the first half of 2000.

As for the connection with Microsoft, that was a bit overblown. So what they're a beta site ... big *&^%&%*& deal! It doesn't mean much. Talk about name dropping ... geez. I'm very familiar with the PC card reader business and all this name dropping just makes me want to take a hot shower. Somebody should tell these people to cut it out. Impress people with the company itself not by dropping names of all the big leaders in the business. I guess they figure most people don't know the difference between Schlumberger, Microsoft, Mondex and BIT. They're in a slightly different class.

Lola:)
