Looking to purchase a new laptop for trading when, and if, my husband ever takes me and the kids on vacation!

Am currently considering the following two and would value your opinion:

Laptop #1:

Sony VAIO PCG-F340 with:

PII 366, 13" screen, 6.4Gb HD, 64Mb RAM, integrated 56K V.90 modem, 2.5Mb video RAM and an i.LINK interface.

Price = $1599

Laptop #2:

Acer TravelMate 340T with:

PIII 450, 12" screen, 6Gb HD, 64Mb RAM, integrated 56K V.90 modem and 10/100 Ethernet connection, 2.5Mb video RAM

Price = $1999

I'm wondering if it's worth the extra $400 to get the extra processor power since I already have an extra Xircom PCMCIA ethernet card for the SONY? I'm also wondering about the reliability of the two machines.

Any thoughts or do you have any other recommendations in this price range?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sue :)
