RE: "What you say is true but the goal of Windows 2000 is to change all that. If Sun could catch IBM, why can't Wintel catch Sun?"

Hi Tony,

Hope you had a good holiday.

Re: Sun/Wintel.

Great topic. Excellent question.
An IT person from one of the top datafarm co.s publicly said Win2000 has made significant improvements to the NT platform. The key question is: how much improvement and is it enough? He seemed to think it was a good, solid product. I would be happy to hear if other IT folks share his viewpoint. It'll be interesting to see if Win2000 is the release which will take off in the Enterprise. However, the Unix/Linux remote capabilities are (maybe now 'were'?) better, which is in part why some dotcoms use Sun, but does this change with Win2000?

Regards,
Amy J
