Sento Corporation Partners with State of Wyoming and City of Evanston to Open
New Generation Phoneless Customer Service Center
AMERICAN FORK, Utah, Dec. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Sento Corporation (Nasdaq: SNTO) will open its first external phoneless customer service center in Evanston, Wyoming, as part of a cooperative effort between Sento, the City of Evanston and the State of Wyoming.
Planned for first quarter of 2000, up to 50 support representatives will be engaged in customer interactions over the Internet (email, Web text chat, Web call backs and Internet calls) and handling traditional voice-based calls at the new eCustomer Contact Center. The new, state-of-the-art facility will add an expected capacity of 300 seats for all shifts. The expansion is for anticipated growth in business from current Fortune 500 clients and new client activity.
All customer inquiries and data will be routed through Sento's data and communications center in American Fork, Utah to the Evanston facility over a single network connection using the latest in convergent networking technology combining both voice and data traffic. The facility will utilize voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) technology and Sento's Web-enabled customer relationship management software creating a blended media environment.
"The customer support industry is about to get a glimpse of what customer service centers will become," said Ronnie Johansen, Sento Vice President of Operations. "Evanston and the State of Wyoming share our vision. The Internet is having a profound effect on customer service and has opened new, exciting opportunities for us. This new eCustomer Contact Center will assist Sento in meeting our client's expectations in service and quality for customer communications originating over the Internet and telephone. The caliber and work ethic of the people in Wyoming make this an ideal location for us."
"The City of Evanston is privileged to have Sento as a corporate citizen," said Evanston Mayor Will Davis. "We look forward to the success and growth of a business that offers diversification for Evanston and that is linked to the new economy of the next millennium."
"We were given the opportunity as the Wyoming Business Council to pull together different state and federal agencies to make this project happen. It was a pleasure to be a part of the process. This is the first project done by Den Costantino as head of our Business and Industry Recruitment Division and all of it worked as a very solid, team effort. We're very interested in looking at how the technology works -- long term -- because we think it will have benefits throughout the state. We hope to see Sento grow in the State of Wyoming," said John J. Reardon, Wyoming Business Council Chief Executive Officer.
