These number sets are pretty arbitrary. I picked them originally for various reasons, not very important, can't even remember why. My main view is really long term, watching the gaps between the averages and of course looking for the crossovers. I think a lot of people use the 20,50 pairs. I should include that. I do look at it occasionally.

The gapping that leads into the crossovers is what most interests me. Anticipating the crossover by eyeballing the gaps as well as the price line gap with the moving averages can greatly enhance the percentage gain but depends a bit more on guesswork than waiting till the crossover occurs. This is where art invades science.
