Here's why I think ICGE's fundamental value is likely higher than $45.

From an exclusive interview with ICGE's Walter Buckley (12/20/99)

Buckley: "Well, our goal is to hold significant stakes of the No. 1 player in each of the top 50 B2B markets. The top 50 B2B markets make up 75-80% of the $1.3 trillion market opportunity. It is very unlikely we will be number one in every market; however, we feel as though we have an excellent chance to capture north of 30% of the aggregate market. "

For those of you who don't want to deal with calculating all those zeros, that would be (conservatively) $292,500,000,000. That's $292.5 billion.

But I agree... we should be careful about putting much weight into forecasts like this... especially when BCG has the following to say:

"The research estimates that between 1998 and 2003, US business-to-business e-commerce will grow by 33 percent each year and reach $2.8 trillion in transaction value."

So those projections from Buckley's interview may represent less than half the (conservative) potential for ICGE in the next several years. (which, for those of you who like to look at numbers, is $630,000,000,000. $630 billion.)

ICGE's current market cap (at $174.5) is $45.6 billion.

The scope of this market and the scale of this ramp will certainly fluster the faint of heart or the anemic of vision, but I think longterm holders will be amply rewarded.
