generally the growth in outstanding call option contracts in recent months is absolutely breathtaking. rampant speculation, 90's style. as Bill Huebl remarked, his gauge measuring open interest in individual equity calls versus index puts has reached an all time high of 45, way above the 25 level considered dangerous territory in terms of historic precedent. and that's the thing: we are in almost every respect way beyond any historic precedent. i conclude that when the house of cards comes tumbling down it will be a dislocation that's also without historic precedent.
