Ken, in light of the global printathon, gold is bound to make a comeback...probably a surprisingly swift and large one at that. furthermore i would expect the Euro to take off at some point...the ECB is a lot more concerned about money supply growth than the Fed seems to be and Duisenberg has already voiced concerns about the excess liquidity spilling over into financial markets and fostering a bubble. expect a very hawkish ECB next year if y2k is really a 'non-event'. perhaps we'll even get an interest rate bidding war...
btw, i expect that the days of oil being priced exclusively in dollars will soon be over.
