Binx and Thread, Thanks for the post, Binx! CompactFlash Association & Thirty-Three Members Exhibiting at CES 2000 CF+ and CompactFlash Are Today's Form Factor Card Standard I think it is justified to be excited about CompactFlash! These cards are at the heart of the digital camera craze. I have always felt that mp3 Players would be more attractive with more than 32 or 64 MB of memory currently available with SmartMedia or MMC. RCA's decision was wise, IMHO. They add important functionality to the handheld device market. They may be too big for cell phones, but infrastructure for this market segment is a bit too far away to get excited about removable memory anyway. SanDisk and CF are pure plays on digital photography and internet audio. These are two gigantic consumer markets. And if SanDisk prevails in their ligitation surrounding the CompactFlash card assembly IP I don't think that $200 a share is unreasonable, although I am not counting on a legal victory as an underpinning of this investment.
