There is something called a DTC (?) # that each broker has. When I transferred from Schwab to Fidelity about a year ago, I brought over the papers to each broker, and gave the DTC #, which allowed my funds to transfer in 5 days. Ask Lehman about the absolute fastest way to transfer. Also, partial transfer move much faster so I think this is a good idea.

I have to talk to Fidelity now about their options commissions, since taxman said dreyfus is so much cheaper than what Im getting
