Jeff,

I don't want, or foresee TEOTWAKI. I've never been in that camp. I honestly hope I'm wrong about this embedded systems stuff.

[EDIT - After starting to make initial post ... I got a call from my pharmacy.]

THIS IS REALLY WEIRD!!!

I just got a call from my pharmacy ... who told me that they received my prescription earlier today (I had a neighbor drop it off, to pick up tomorrow.)

Here's what they said, "We received your prescription ... but we only have 2 pills left in inventory. If you like, you can come down now an pick up your pill."

I asked, "When do you think you can fill the entire prescription?"

They said, "We hope after 11AM tomorrow."

I immediately called up my neighbor was a V.P. for one of California's largest HMO's until she "retired" last year.

She said she's never heard of anything like this. I said, "We'll fortunately I have a couple of extra months of medication because my cousin's a sales rep for one of the pharmaceutical companies."

I said, "Well, even if I can't get the prescription filled ... I'm OK." She said, "No. You call the pharmacy ... and as soon as they have those pills in ... get down there and pick up that prescription."

My medication is not life threatening.

But, it was really strange to hear someone from the pharmacy say ... they "only have 2 pills left". I'm not kidding. That's what she said.

I then called up my mom and told her to make sure my sister gets her prescriptions filled. My sister had her thryoid removed ... and needs that thyroid medication. Her husband's a diabetic and also has heart problems. He's in his late 50's ... had a stroke and double by-pass a few year ago. Medication is very expensive. She couldn't afford to do much, and refused help from me.

If you, or your family have outstanding prescriptions ... GET THEM FILLED NOW!!

Cheryl
