Technical Indicators

Technical indicators indicate innumeracy, that is, a total ignorance of simple mathematics. Not surprisingly, nobody, but nobody, has ever developed a scheme that produces any result greater than chance. Now, the little industry that surrounds these idiotic schemes is equipped with a list of individual anecdotes to support their idiotic claims and keep sales of technical trading products flowing.

Now, those who really understand mathematical equations of the sort that model market motion (nonlinear differentials) do understand this. There are general trends but once those trends are identified they are self-correcting. So even if you could create a dynamic system of equations with future predictability, it would be totally unstable because of the actions of those buying or selling on that information. In fact, we ought to put together a link of facts about bogus technical trading so that you don't get sucked in by those who happen to be on the winning side of their 50/50 chance.
