Last fall, Cendant (CD) did a share buyback similar to the one you describe for IGT. You may want to look at how it performed for an idea of what may happen with IGT. Best I remember, the stock climbed slightly above the buyback price for a couple weeks, then dropped considerably below it. Earlier this month, CD spiked upward on news that Liberty Media was taking a stake in the company. - Jeff
