Nonetheless ... when a quarter of the French national power grid is down ... this certainly interferes with last minute Y2K remediation.

If they haven't finished remediating by now and entered the testing phase, a couple of days of work ain't gonna save them...

But your point is well taken.

I still think that immediate effects from Y2K disruptions will be rather limited. It is the long-term effects that I think will cause economic disruptions. I worry more about corrupt data that fouls up the JIT inventory system, than something that shuts the computers down completely.
