I agree 100%. I wouldn't be in this stock if not for the discussion of Bulldozer, Pat Mudge and others.

I know little about technology in comparison to the experts. I had read last Winter in a popular rag such as Money or Fortune where someone said that photonics, specifically Uniphase, was a sector in which to invest. This thread was one of the places I looked for objective dialogue as part of my DD. The result is that I finally bought in at $52 in April. The discussion lead directly to this investment.

While most posts are valuable, for my purposes as a long term investor, those that focus on the company rather than stock price fluctuations are most valuable. To each his own.

Another point: For those in the popular media who state that those who invest based on what they read on boards such as SI are basically stupid, are themselves basically stupid. I came out of mutual funds two years ago and over the last year and one-half consolidated into the 6 to 7 stocks I now hold. I've almost doubled my portfolio in '99, while the Vanguard Index Fund is up 18%. Knowlegable posters on the the SI threads have influenced my choices greatly. I make my own choices, but the information here can help the decision process greatly.

As to people like Bulldozer, here is a snippet from a PM to me (he said that I could use his post on the board):

<< Thanks for the note. I have scaled way back on spending time on SI due to the dramatic fall-off in intelligent posts. It seems this bull market brings out everybody and I just don't have the time or the will to 'educate' the masses.>>
