the object of any finite investment such as an option is to take profits and move forward. when the prem on a put diminishes to a point that more can be made with the capacity, then you reset the position, not necessarily in the same underlying.
i would be willing to post my december trades in put sales so you may compare with your strategy......my summary, and willing to itemize is 206k premiums against 1.3m assignable, and closing today affords a 84k profit, or approx a 6% return per month annualize at 72%, and as astute as you are, it would double my cash position in a year.
i'm not a new investor, been around for thirty years.....to educate novices of all aspects of options is important, but to do so with the narrow view based on your lack of experience of some option positions is a bit disingenuous on your part.
show me the risk that your mantra shouts out....forget about delta, gamma, and all other esoteric bs...it's about making money..... |
