As a customer, I never had a problem with their service or opportunities for investment. I remember back in 1979 I signed up for a CD and was getting about 15% (I think). I got that rate for the next 7 years... Which was really cool because as rates went down, mine stayed high.

in the 70's (don't remember exactly when) I inherited a small block of FNM and opened an account to which I deposited quarterly dividend checks. The checks weren't for very much money, but since I never spent the money and later when I put it into a high yield CD the money just kept growing.

The story behind the shares was that right before the crash of '29 there was someone in our family that pulled all his money out of the market and into cash. Then after the crash, he bought up a lot of stuff at bargain basement prices. He eventually died and left all of his holdings to every living descendant. My piece came out to be (i think) 108 shares of FNM. It wasn't much but it was a nice thing to have.

But I was only a teen back then too...
