We should all do well this upcoming year but I might be making some changes by working smarter and not harder. I have to increase subscribership by 100% or my wife is going to force me back into the real world.
She just doesn't understand that this is a two man operation being performed by one person who puts in 18 hour days. One more person and doubling subscription list brings us to where we should be, expecially if the 2nd person is web savvy. We could do a 5 year plan for success in 2 years if we can accomplish this task.
On to better subjects, we are rolling out the "Dom" for the New Year. With a little bit of luck, it is not vinegar and is actually champagne still. The 1976 Dom is supposed still a decent vintage year. The sole champagne bottle in our wine cellar (which contains 10 bottles of wine<GGG>) was given to us on the occasion of our wedding way back when. We decided to save it for our 25th wedding anniversary but somehow my wife decided it was to be used for this pre-Millennium bash. Typical of my wife, get into the home stretch and then die near the finish line.<GGG>
Anyway, imagine this, Dom Perignon with cheese whiz appetizers, shrimp cocktails, and cheese/cracker munchies.
Almost as bad as turning some Chateau "LaFFite" Rothschild 1954 into a wine spritzer (I actually saw someone waste a bottle doing that at a SEMICON West banquet 15 years ago)
Anyway, home for the holidays got me into big trouble this year even though it was not my fault. So, I guess having the champagne now could get me out of hot water, unless she expects me to replace the bottle before our 25th.
BTW - champagne is sn interesting investment these days. Not a bottle can be found around town. Makes me think that if everyone is dipping into their champagne stashes for the New Year, we might very well find out that the scarcity has driven the prices up for the remaining vintages<GGG>. Hmmm, I would if I could get an empty Dom bottle and fill it up with a cheapo champagne and serve it<GGGG>.
